Woody's Whacky Brother
Sitting atop the exhaust vent of our house is the source of our mysterious sound. For two days I have walked all around our house trying to figure out where in the world the machine gun fire sound was coming from. It wasn't until I went outside and looked up did I see this little whackadoodle. I believe he is Woody Woodpecker's long lost brother, Clarence. You don't hear much about Clarence. Now you know why.
Happy Wednesday!

Ha, ha, ha!! I can SO relate. We had a crow that would do this on our fireplace vent. We only had a gas fireplace then (you know, the kind you flip on with a switch?) and when he would tap at the vent, it would reverberate down through the vent, through the 2-sided glass fireplace, and throughout the house. It would sound sometimes like a clanging fire alarm! There was *nothing* we could do about it but wait until he got bored and flew away. Just what is the attraction with this?!
Hope he stops "firing" at you soon! :-) Machine guns are scary!!
He he he he .
We used to have a Scrub Jay that would come in the back door (we had to keep it open for an oder dog) and sit on the coffee table and SCREAM at the dog. I'd find him in there every morning.
If we were in the living room he would hang upside off of the gutter outside the door and yell.
Absolutely dork of a bird. And the dog and cat never touched him.
Heya Ms Susan,
I need some advice on starting a little wine barrel garden, if you don't mind helping out the plant killer extraordinaire.
Hubby and I are trying to eat better and fresh veggies is part of that and I'd like to try to grow some of my own, in moderation (hence the wine barrels) again.
Feel free to email me. And yeah I am tapping other friends too. ;-)
That's funny. I was just talking to a gal at work that told me she couldn't figure out all week what the tapping noise was in her house until she was outside and saw the woodpecker pecking at the vent. Poor confused birds.
Ok, I've got deja vu! You see, I recently posted about a flicker (woodpecker) who was doing the exact same thing!
And I posted a photo of it, too!
I hope you'll check mine out and tell me what you think.....and relive a deja vu, too!
hehe
