A Quick Dip in the Creek

Oh Glorious Days! We are being teased by soft days, breezes and sunshine. Isn't that a perfect time for a little dip in the creek? What...you think it might be too cold? Too early in the year?
As I discovered last Friday, the weather was ideal for the newest member of our fa
mily to take a little dip in the creek! Oh, yes, that little rascal! He saw a creek and just jumped in! Sigh...Yes...it was me...all me...that is what I get for driving Farmer Jeff's behemoth truck to the catering event and then forgot to pull forward. Instead I backed up and went RIGHT into the drink. Grrrrr....Luckily there were wise folks who understood what was needed to get me out of there. See...I did figure out how to get the truck into 4 wheel drive. That only works, I discovered, when you have ALL 4 wheels on the ground, not one in the creek/mud and the other one off the ground flapping in the breeze.

Once we got some weight in the back of the truck, a chain onto another strong car, a little tug and out we came! I was mighty embarrassed. Sigh...

I guess I just wanted to be the first to get mud all over the truck!

ohhhhhhhh
owww
wow
Since you showed us yours I'll tell you mine. My husband was trying to appease me after buying a more expensive truck than we need. "Here Rob, take the truck!" "Hey Rob, if we buy that truck you can drive it to Minnesota and have lots of room for all of you." Ok Honey, here, let me back that into a 4' deep ditch and put the first two dents in it...when it was only three days old and had less than 400 miles on it. ooohhh.....owwwww....wow. Yup, I did that.
Hehe, and with an audience to boot.
Glad the little Rascal enjoyed his dip and you both came out relatively unscathed.
Ouch - that's why I really hate driving The Shepherd's truck - he sees every little dirt spot when I get home -
I love all the little chicken eggs you are getting - we only have three hens left from our original flock of a dozen and these three girls are about 10 years old! We got our first egg of the season yesterday. They are entertaining aren't they - did the one that got attacked by the dog survive?
Sorry to hear about Ginger's tumors - a blogger friend has a cat with lymphoma - she is giving him chemo pills - he seems to be doing OK and the cancer has not increased. It is a huge commitment to make - he is pretty healthy, so I'm hoping he'll make it.
Enjoyed reading your blog. T.
I love the picture of the man in the chef's coat and apron standing - looking oh-so-serious - in the back of the truck. Is he the "weight" you referred to? LOL
And...what I really noticed? (Other than you looking embarrassed, that is) was the fact that the tree you are next to is in FULL BLOOM! Beautiful!
Glad it all turned out ok...and that you can laugh at yourself!
Now! That is 4-wheeling taken to the extreme! hehe
